What is Anxiety and Depression?  A lot of times anxiety and depression go hand-in-hand and one can lead to the other. You could be experiencing one or both when you notice there is an impact in your daily functioning (work, school, family, social, etc). Anxiety can be related to stress and it’s symptoms include: shaking, jitteriness, rapid heartbeat, nausea, sweating, racing thoughts, not being able to sleep, poor eating habits, worrying all the time about even small things, stomach pains, pacing, fidgetiness, and much more.  Depression can have a multitude of causes and it’s symptoms can include: fatigue, lack of motivation, not wanting to get out of bed, not completing responsibilities, poor self-esteem and self-image, anger, frustration, irritability, poor eating habits, bullying yourself or others, poor family relationships, and much more.

As stress increases in our society, so does the level of anxiety and depression we all experience. What people might not realize is that these are normal feelings, just like happiness, that we can experience. There is nothing wrong with you for experiencing symptoms of anxiety and/or depression. I have been treating anxiety and depression for over a decade.
